North End Farm Phase 2 Approved

Working with planning consultants GFW, Form Properties have received unanimous approval from the North Northumberland Planning Committee for the second phase of development at the popular North End Farm site.

The approval grants permission for a further six design-led homes consisting of two three-bed and four four-bed properties arranged around a central courtyard as a nod to the agricultural heritage of the site. The design from North East-based StudioNorth architects seamlessly blends a mix of timber cladding and local sandstone, expanding on the typology of the existing development.

Once completed, the properties will employ a range of sustainable technology including air source heat pumps, electric vehicle charging points and roof-mounted solar PV panels along with providing cycle stores for the future residents to encourage sustainable transport.

Michael Foster-Smith, Director of Form Properties, said “Receiving this unanimous decision from the Planning Committee is testament to the quality of the design and our commitment to sustainable development. We have worked in proactively and in collaboration with the local planning authority through the course of the application process to bring forward our proposals for this site which has been well received by the Committee members and we can’t wait to get started with works on site. Construction is expected to commence by the end of the year with completion in early 2026.”
